Plans, billing and support
Each box is its own monthly subscription in USD, paid through Stripe. Stripe charges the first month when you create the box, then every month on that date. There is no free plan and no trial.

Every plan comes with Docker, SSH, the browser terminal, preview URLs and the limits dashboard for your Codex and Claude subscriptions.

For a Business plan, Stripe Checkout asks for your company name, billing address and tax ID, such as a VAT or GST number. They land on every invoice of that box.
Enterprise
Enterprise gives your team a dedicated node, an SLA and payment by invoice. It has no list price. Pick Talk to us on the Enterprise card when you create a box, or see /enterprise.
Pay for a new box
- Create the box and pick Create box for $19 / month. The price follows your plan.
- Pay in Stripe Checkout.
- Setup starts the moment the payment lands.
Leave Checkout unfinished and nothing is charged. The box waits on its page with a Pay $19 button, priced by its plan. After 60 minutes the checkout expires and the unpaid box is deleted.
See what you pay
Billing lists each box with its plan, monthly price, status and next charge date, plus the total. Each box is charged on its own date.
Pick Manage billing to open the Stripe billing portal. Cards, invoices and cancellations live there.
Change a box's plan
Pick Change size on the box page. Bigger applies now, and Stripe charges the difference for the rest of the month. Smaller applies from the next billing period, and the data must fit the smaller disk. Manage your boxes has the steps.
Cancel a subscription
- On Billing, pick Manage billing.
- In the Stripe portal, cancel the box's subscription.
The box keeps running to the end of the paid period. Its page shows when the subscription ends. Renew in the portal before that date to keep it.
Delete box works differently. It cancels the subscription at once, with no prorated refund, and erases the box.
When a payment fails
Stripe retries the card, and you get an email at each step.

Pay before day 14 and the box starts again with every file in place. Pick Pay now on the box page or on Billing, or update the card under Manage billing.
Use a promo code
When you create a box, open Have a code?, type the code and pick Apply. The button and the note below it show what you get before you pay. A code can give:
- free days for a new box, with nothing charged today
- the first month free
- a share or an amount off once, for several months, or every month
To use a code on a running box, open Have a code? on Billing. It applies from the box's next invoice. One code per box.
Invite friends for credit
Open Invite friends from the sidebar and share Your link, or tell friends your code.
- A friend who signs up with your link gets the first month of their first box free.
- When they pay for their box, a month of their plan lands on your account as credit. The credit comes off your next invoice, whichever box it is for.
- Credit per friend is capped at $59. Across a year, rewards stop at $590 or 10 friends.
- The invite counts when your friend uses the link or code within 14 days of signing up.
The page lists each friend and where they stand.
Get a free month for a review
Review detachbox on G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, Product Hunt, AlternativeTo or any other site. Paste the link under A free month for a review on Invite friends, then pick Send for a check.
- A person checks every link, and an email tells you when the month lands.
- Mention in your review that detachbox gave you a free month.
- Five stars or one, the month is the same. We never ask for a rating.
- One review per site.
- A review earns a month once one of your boxes pays. The credit is a month of your plan, capped at $59.
Get help from support
Open Support and pick New request. Say what it is about, pick the box if it is about one, and write the message. A person who runs detachbox reads every request. Answers land on the page and in your inbox.
- Business boxes get Priority and a reply within 4 hours.
- You can keep up to 20 requests open.
- Writing in a closed request opens it again.
