Acceptable Use Policy

What you can do

Develop software, run AI coding agents, build and run containers, host databases and services for your own projects and test them, including from the outside through SSH port forwarding.

What you must not do

• Mining: cryptocurrency mining or any proof-of-work, proof-of-space or similar workload, in any form.
• Scanning: port scans, vulnerability scans, crawling at abusive rates or brute-forcing logins against systems you do not own or have written permission to test.
• Spam: sending bulk unsolicited messages by any channel. Outbound mail on port 25 is closed on every box.
• Attacks: denial-of-service, flooding or stress tests against third parties, and running botnets, command-and-control servers or attack tools against others.
• Phishing and fraud: phishing pages, credential harvesting, distributing malware, or deceiving people for money or data.
• Sharing a box: giving other people access to your box through credentials, SSH keys or session links, reselling it, or running it as a shared service for others. One box, one person.
• Sharing subscriptions: using a box to let several people use one Codex, Claude or other provider subscription, or to get around a provider's regional or account restrictions.
• Open relays: public proxies, open mail relays or VPN services for other people.
• Our infrastructure: probing or attacking detachbox, the host or other customers' boxes, trying to escape the container, or evading the resource limits of your plan.
• Illegal content: anything unlawful where you or we are located, including child sexual abuse material and material that infringes someone else's rights.

What happens when a box breaks these rules

When a box harms others or our infrastructure, we stop it immediately. We then contact you, explain what we found and, where the problem can be fixed, let you fix it before the box starts again. Serious or repeated violations lead to account closure without refund. We report crimes to the authorities when the law requires it.
